Gwel y Cwm is a stunning, rural and luxurious contemporary lodge that stands amidst the glorious rolling countryside in Llandyssil, Montgomeryshire, Mid-Wales. The views from the house are truly lovely!

You can enjoy the incredible views from the huge bi-fold windows and watch the gentle pace of country life unfold before you. The flight of graceful Red Kites and Buzzards will play out above you. All manner of flora and fauna is to be delighted in in this unspoilt corner of beautiful, rural Montgomeryshire. Star gaze to the dark, night sky whilst relaxing in your private Hot-Tub. The owls will be hooting gently above you and you may even be lucky enough to see a shooting star to wish upon.

Twin bedroom (with Zip & Link beds converting it into a King-size bed)and en suit shower

There is an additional TV with an en-suite shower room with rainfall shower for an added touch of luxury, basin and loo

Family bathroom:
Roll top bath to soak your troubles away... basin heated towel rail and loo

Note: You will be thoughtfully provided with monogrammed robes and bespoke toiletries for the duration of your stay

Outdoor Space :
Large bi-fold doors lead out on to a slate patio with views across the countryside. There is a table and chairs for four guests to enjoy a little alfresco dining and the added bonus of a Komado Ceramic BBQ Grill for the creative chef!

There are two sun loungers to relax in

Gather your own eggs from the free range chickens that are on-site, and start your day with an egg and soldiers for your breakfast or stroll across to say 'good morning' to othe two beautiful ponies, Welsh cob 'Llanidi' and 'Lady', a retired thoroughbred - both very partial to a polo mint.

Privatly situated Hot tub (off the Master suit) to relax and unwind to enjoy those magnificent views or to star gaze on a clear night - Robes are also provided

Out and about:
Located near to the market town of Mongomery and its Castle
Shepherd's Rest is in an enviable location, amidst acres of countryside, and you can enjoy lots of walking trails, with easy access to the Offa's Dyke trail.

Llandyssil village centre is a short walk away, with a small selection of shops and a pub, with the town of Montgomery just over two miles away, with must-see attractions including its 12th century castle ruins, Town Hill County War Memorial, cricket club and selection of cafés, restaurants and shops, as well as a fantastic farmers market held every Thursday.

There is an excellent 9-hole course of Lakeside Golf Course is just over a mile away, with a driving range, putting green and restaurant overlooking the golf course and the River Severn.

The historic town of Bishop's Castle is within easy reach, with a fantastic nature reserve, the House on Crutches Museum, which makes for a fascinating day out, and many

walking and cycling trails, including a steady climb up Cordon Hill, or alternatively take the scenic route through the Mid Wales countryside on the Welshpool and Llanfair Light Railway.

Venture towards Ludlow, host of one of the UK's best food festivals and a real foodie's delight, and why not explore the Shropshire Hills, with over 800 square kilometres of Welsh and English countryside to explore, extending from the Wrekin to Clun Forest and from Stiperstones across to the Clee Hills?

Other nearby attractions worth discovering include the Neo-Gothic Mansion of Gregynog Hall, with a tea room and shop for visitors and the National Trust's Powis Castle, home to spectacular gardens you can stroll through.

The village bakery is just a 5 minute walk away, where you can choose from a delicious selection of fresh bread and pastries each morning, as well as collecting your bottle of fresh milk from our organic village dairy, 'Daisy Bank' dairy. There are many wonderful walks to explore too, straight from your door-step, as well as the 'Offa's Dyke' path which can be joined in Montgomery, just 2 miles away.

Montgomery is a small 'Royal Charter' Town with a delightful array of artisan independent shops, including a delicatessen, art gallery and book-shop, as well as a small Farmers' Market on Thursdays and Saturdays. If you choose to get out and about, you will find a great choice of local destinations, all within 10 miles ; National Trust property Powis Castle, CADW Montgomery Castle, Gregynog Hall and Gardens, Glansevern Hall and Gardens, The Llanfair Light Railway, Kerry Vale Vineyard, Andrew Logan Museum.....more than ample for the most active explorer!
